Tracey & Richard
Niagara Wedding Love Story: Tracey & Richard
When I first heard Tracey & Richards story and why it was so important to them to get married in Niagara, my heart melted. The previous year, Tracey ran the Boston Marathon for the first time. Richard, running it previously, knew about the importance of preparation for it. The day of the race was raining, and Richard provided each of them a throwback Maid of the Mist poncho to help keep dry. At the end of the race, Richard, having ditched his poncho, waited for Tracey to finish and promptly proposed. She said yes wearing her poncho and they knew they had to get married in Niagara.
Now ideally, you would think they would have married on the now Hornblower, however 2019 was cold and on May 5th, the boats still were not in the water. So we had to improvise. They, along with their surprised friend who had no idea they were tying the knot, came to Niagara the day after running a marathon (can we just pause for their incredible dedication and ability to be marathon runners. Like holy!).
They said their “I do’s” at Ramblers Rest in Niagara Parks, right beside the River. (Hornblower graciously gifted them new ponchos in case of mist.) The lovely Cathy from Cathy Davis & Co, officiated with the beautiful waterfalls as a backdrop on a sunny May afternoon.
Tracey held a small red and pink bouquet from The Flower House and wore a very simple white lace dress she picked up a few days before.
The amazing Megan Muir from Muir Image Photography captured the happiness of the day.
They ended their day at Taco & Tequila to celebrate not only their marriage but Cinqo de Mayo. Rounds of margaritas and Mexican food was enjoyed.
It was such a pleasure to work with them both and the sweetest part, Richard did all the planning and just wanted Tracey to be happy.
