Niagara Wedding Love Story: Nicole & Jordan
After all the disappointment, frustration and confusion around COVID let’s chat about something positive and happy. People still got married in 2020! People will still get married in 2021! Love is not cancelled. Weddings are not over. They just look different. They look like Nicole & Jordan’s beautiful Honsberger Estate wedding in September 2020. That September when we still didn’t have a clue what was happening. That September when there was no dancing allowed. That September when masks and social distancing were required. And let me tell you it was beautiful. They were happy. They celebrated with their closest people and it was perfect.
Now they were fortunate enough to have 50 people inside and 100 people outside (which they chose to have their guest list under 50 for both). Even though their numbers were lower than they originally planned, it didn’t take away from the fun, happiness and love of the day.
Nicole and her ladies got ready at home with the wonderful team from Honor Beauty. Relaxed and ready to go, they headed to Honsberger Estate for the first look. Florals were created in simple greens and white by My Motif. All of their wedding stationery was created by the talented Alicia’s Infinity and fit with their vision perfectly.
Waiting patiently for Nicole to arrive at the winery, Jordan and his groomsmen got started on photos with Philosophy Studios. After the first look and group photos were done, guests were sat as the music by The Fox Duo greeted them. The ceremony arbour was elevated by Simply Beautiful Decor and a stunning floral installation from My Motif. Trish, from Cathy Davis & Co, was the perfect officiant of Nicole and Jordan, matching their laughter and excitement.
After a few family photos, guests entered the barn for cocktail hour. The room was set based on “bubbles”. Each of the tables were elegantly set with white lace runners and place settings matched with green garlands. With COVID restrictions in place, guests sat at their tables and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. Nicole and Jordan, walked around and chatted with each table, allowing for plenty of time with each guest to chat.
With Nicole and Jordan both being vegetarians, it was important to them to serve a primarily vegetarian dinner. Working with the chef and team at Honsberger Estate created incredible options and it was such a fresh take on typical wedding dinner expectations.
Following dinner, no dancing was allowed and as such, Nicole and Jordan chose not to have a first dance. However, speeches were shared, the best of the night going to Jordan’s brothers (possibly one of the best “best men” speeches I have heard to date). Tales were told, laughs were had and embarrassing stories were shared. As the night wore on, guests enjoyed a variety of delicious Beechwood Donuts.
Working with Nicole and Jordan was a dream. They were so fun. We had so many laughs (often at Jordan’s expense but sometimes he just made it so easy to poke a little fun). I love when clients become friends. It makes their wedding day that much more special.
