Every wedding is so different and despite the amount of time that goes into planning, there are somethings that can’t be accounted for, such as where a power source is or something breaking. This is why my emergency kit is so important. Things spill, ribbon can be forgotten, and someone could get hurt. I like to be prepared for anything and my kit helps me do that easily, especially when I have to make a quick decision and think on my feet. Every wedding planner’s kit is stocked differently, based on things they have experienced in the past at weddings, or items they need at each wedding.
Here are a few items you can find in my kit (or car) that I won’t leave without (in no particular order).
- Hair supplies (bobby pins, hairspray, elastics)
- First aid kit with basic medicine (Tylenol, antihistamines; etc)
- Small tool kit
- Lighters (multiple)
- Glue gun and glue sticks
- Lint roller
- Extension cord
- Basic makeup
- Cleaning wipes
- Personal hygiene products (male and female)
- Stickers (for kids)
This list could go on and on and on. I have a small suitcase filled with stuff that stays in my car and I bring in a condensed version of my kit that has the items I tend to need and use the most.
I obviously hope that at every wedding I don’t need to dive too deep into my kit and that things run exactly as planned, but it’s better to be over prepared than under!
