My whole business world came crashing down and it’s starting to feel like a blessing

So I’m sure many noticed that Lasting Events’ website and email was down. While I was away on vacation some pretty crazy things took place beyond my control. I obviously had no idea and was shocked that I didn’t have a million emails to address. Thinking that some miracle happened, I woke up my first day back (last Wednesday) ready to tackle some projects with a clear mind. A client text me to say that her emails kept bouncing back, thus alerting me to the fact that I had nothing for a week. A WHOLE WEEK! My first thought was OMG, what if my clients are freaking out because they think I took off with their money! What if potential clients have tried to contact me and now think I’m not worth it because they couldn’t reach me? Vendors that I have spent the last 2 years giving business cards to and building relationships with won’t be able to reach me! I have spent 2 years of marketing and getting my name out there and it’s ALL gone! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?

The planner in me set to work to try and solve the problem with my limited tech knowledge (after like a million tears and mild heart attacks). I made some calls, tried to do ANYTHING only to find out that I will have to wait 2-3 months to fix it as is. So I did the next best thing and bought a new domain and here we are, up and running. I have spent my time changing links and emails everywhere I can think of, emailing vendors and clients the new email and taking deep breaths.

I can say now, that this is almost a blessing in disguise. I got to evaluate where my advertising is and where my name is. I have got to empty my inbox and can now subscribe only to those newsletters that I actually read. I have a backup plan for when the old domain comes up. I would never wish for this to happen to anyone. But I can say that I think that after your world crashes in any way, you really get to rebuild exactly how you see fit and make the changes, and clean up the messes, that you ignored previously.

I apologize to anyone that tried to contact me and couldn’t get through. If you resend, I promise I will be in touch ASAP.
