Put your hands up if you secretly eat less at dinner so you can have an extra piece of cake. Because I may be that person, but only if it’s extra sugary, rot your teeth out instantly, icing! Your wedding cake is a statement piece for you wedding. It’s a sure way to add personality (I know I talk a lot about adding personality, but seriously this is your day together and everything should show that.) and way to add to your theme. There are some very amazing cake designers out there. Here are a few tips to consider when thinking of your wedding cake.
- Know your style: Do you want a traditional cake? Do you want something more creative? Do you want cupcakes or pie?
- Think of flavours: Do you want carrot cake, vanilla or chocolate? You get to eat it, you should like it.
- Consider where your wedding is taking place: Some icing can’t hold up in heat, so if you are having an outdoor wedding, you may want to talk this over with your baker for options that won’t melt on you.
- Know your budget: If you are on a tight budget, ask your baker to create a smaller formal cake and then use a sheet cake to serve to your guests or cupcakes.
I hope these tips help you when it comes to your cake decision.
